Israeli military reports shooting incident in Syrian military buffer zone, Syria has not responded yet

On February 1st, the Israeli Defense Forces issued a statement late at night on January 31st local time, stating that they had heard gunshots while operating in the military buffer zone between Israel and Syria, and confirmed a shooting incident. Israeli soldiers immediately fired back at the source area of the gunshots. The statement stated that the incident did not cause any casualties, and Israeli military forces have been deployed in the area and will continue to carry out operations. Israeli media reported that this is the first such incident since the formation of the Syrian Transitional Government and the deployment of Israeli troops to the military buffer zone between the temporary Israeli Syrian border. The Syrian side has not yet responded to this.
