On April 21st, a South Korean Air Force fighter jet dropped its gun pod and fuel tank during training. After the incident, the South Korean Air Force established an accident investigation committee. On the 20th, South Korean media reported that military sources revealed that the committee learned from the pilot involved that the accident may have been caused by accidentally touching the drop button. On the 19th, the South Korean Air Force reported that a KA-1 light attack aircraft accidentally dropped two gun pods and two empty fuel tanks during night flight training on the evening of the 18th. At the time of the incident, the aircraft was located over Pyeongchang, approximately 125 kilometers east of the South Korean capital Seoul. The random gun pod dropped a machine gun and 500 rounds of 12.7mm caliber bullets together. At present, there have been no reports of casualties or civilian property damage caused by this accident. The South Korean Air Force has found the dropped cannon pod and some ammunition, and is still searching for other fallen items.
