On April 27th, local time, Osama Hamdan, a senior official of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), issued a statement stating that as long as Israel continues to occupy Palestine, Hamas will not give up armed resistance. Osama said that Hamas proposed that all parties comply with the ceasefire agreement reached in January this year or reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement to ensure Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, open the border crossing connecting Gaza, and achieve a long-term ceasefire. In addition, Hamas will not respond to any ceasefire proposal that does not include Israel’s complete cessation of aggression against the Gaza Strip, and Hamas does not accept Israel’s so-called “post-war Gaza” statements, but insists on demanding that the Israeli military “stop aggression”.
