Production of offshore heavy oil fields developed remotely using unmanned platforms in China

On May 3rd, as an offshore heavy oil field developed remotely using unmanned platforms, the Panyu 11-12 platform of China National Offshore Oil Corporation Shenzhen Branch was successfully put into operation in the eastern waters of the South China Sea. The Panyu 11-12 platform is the core facility of the Panyu 10/11 block joint development project, located in the sea area 200 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen with a depth of about 114 meters. It is 150.8 meters high and weighs about 7000 tons. It has achieved new breakthroughs in “typhoon production mode”, remote resumption of production, complex crude oil processing, etc. The platform has functions such as intelligent oil extraction, intelligent equipment operation and maintenance, and intelligent security. Compared with traditional development mode, adopting unmanned design can not only reduce engineering investment, but also save more than 10 million yuan in operation and maintenance costs every year.
