On May 6th, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on May 5th local time that Israel needs to establish a “special national investigation committee” to investigate the reasons for the successful attack by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on October 7th, 2023, which led to Israel’s passivity. However, he believes that “this can only be done after the end of the war in Gaza”. Netanyahu said that Israel is on the eve of a “large-scale attack on the Gaza Strip” and that “defeating Hamas is what needs to be done now” before conducting relevant investigations.
