On May 13th, a research team from the University of Texas at Austin, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and First Energy Group discovered a faster and more accurate method to repair magnetic field defects in fusion reactions, solving the problem of finding the location of particle leaks in “star mimics”. Researchers say that this progress is a paradigm shift in the design of fusion reactors, with the potential to increase the speed of developing star mimics by 10 times. The relevant paper was recently published in the journal Physical Review Letters.
