Zelensky held talks with the Vice President and Secretary of State of the United States to discuss issues such as the Istanbul negotiations

On May 18th, Ukrainian President Zelensky held talks with US Vice President Vance and US Secretary of State Rubio in Rome, Italy. Zelensky posted this news on his official social media platform and stated that both Ukraine and the United States had discussed the negotiations held in Istanbul. Zelensky stated that the delegation sent by Russia has a lower level and does not have decision-making power. He stated that Ukraine is ready for genuine diplomacy and emphasized the importance of achieving a comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire as soon as possible. In addition, both sides also held consultations on issues such as sanctions against Russia, bilateral trade, defense cooperation, battlefield situation, and future exchange of prisoners of war.
