Yangon, June 5th (Xinhua) – “Promoting Friendship, Shared Destiny, and Creating the Future” – The theme forum celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar, and the warm celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar by Chinese and Myanmar civil society organizations, as well as the theme event of “Dialogue · Knowledge of Friends” International Day of Civilization Dialogue, were held simultaneously in Upper and Lower Myanmar on the 5th. Hundreds of representatives from various sectors of government, civil society organizations, enterprises, think tanks, universities, etc. of China and Myanmar participated in the event to discuss the “Paopa” friendship.
Myanmar Mandalay Chief Minister Miao Ang delivered a speech at the event, stating that over the past 75 years, Myanmar China cooperation in various fields such as science and technology, culture, education, sports, health, and sister cities has continuously deepened. Myanmar actively supports the joint construction of the “the Belt and Road”, the Myanmar China Economic Corridor, the China Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline and other large-scale projects to achieve results.
Ding Wu, chairman of Myanmar China Friendship Association, said that China’s initiative to jointly build the “the Belt and Road” has strengthened cooperation among countries around the world and promoted common development. The Lancang Mekong Cooperation has played an important role in promoting peace, stability, and development in the region.
Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Ma Jia, delivered a speech at the event in Myanmar, stating that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar in 1950, the two countries’ relations have been tested by the changing international situation and have steadily developed forward. Both sides walk hand in hand, match the hearts of the people, and help each other. We look forward to the continued efforts of civil organizations from both countries to deepen and implement the construction of a China Myanmar community with a shared future.
Chinese Consul General in Mandalay, Gao Ping, delivered a speech at the event in Myanmar, stating that regardless of the changing international situation, China has always adhered to the concept of friendship, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. China regards Myanmar as a close neighbor with blood ties and friendship, and always regards the well-being of the two peoples as the starting point and foothold for formulating policies towards Myanmar.
