The China Oman Friendship and Cooperation Forum is held in Oman

Doha, August 1 (Xinhua) — Muscat News: The China Oman Friendship and Cooperation Forum was held on July 31 in Salalah, the second largest city in Oman. This forum aims to provide a platform for dialogue and communication between people from all walks of life in both countries, promote direct docking, and create tangible cooperation results.

Ali Saleh, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, said that Oman regards China as an important partner, and the cooperation between the two sides has made substantial progress under the framework of jointly building the “the Belt and Road”. He hoped to strengthen cooperation with China in infrastructure, new energy and science and technology. Tai, the editor in chief of Oman’s Opinion Daily, stated that both Oman and China are committed to achieving sustainable economic development, talent cultivation, and innovation driven development. Both sides should strengthen dialogue, make good use of the platform built by the forum, and promote in-depth communication and exchanges among people from all walks of life. Naif, the chairman of the Omani Zafar Province Chamber of Commerce, called for the transformation of forum outcomes into sustainable partnerships, the implementation of more practical projects, and the service of economic development between the two countries.

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Oman Lv Jian said that the “the Belt and Road” initiative is a global practice for China and the world to share development opportunities and achieve common prosperity. Oman has full potential and should play a more important role in the “the Belt and Road” cooperation. China is Oman’s largest trading partner, and the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides has numerous highlights and enormous potential, which should accelerate.

This forum is jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Oman, the Oman China Friendship Association, and the Opinion Daily. Relevant departments of the Omani government and representatives of enterprises from both countries have had in-depth exchanges and discussions on cooperation related to the country’s development strategy, preferential policies for attracting investment, the strength and advantages of Chinese enterprises, and areas of cooperation between the two sides.
