Uzbekistan China Hong Kong Business Forum held in Hong Kong

Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong, August 4 (Reporter Liu Yinglun) The Uzbekistan China Hong Kong Business Forum (Investment and Green Industry Development) was held in Hong Kong on August 4, and participants jointly discussed how to deepen economic and trade cooperation between Hong Kong and Uzbekistan under the framework of jointly building the “the Belt and Road”.

Qiu Yinghua, Director of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, delivered a speech saying that Uzbekistan is an important hub of the ancient Silk Road and is now a key country in Central Asia for the joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” initiative. Uzbekistan, as a hub in the Central Asian region, and Hong Kong as a hub for connectivity in Asia, can form a cooperative relationship with complementary advantages. The cooperation will cover areas such as finance, trade, aviation, digital economy, green initiatives, culture, and education, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khozaev stated that in the context of the deepening of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China in the new era, bilateral economic, trade, and financial cooperation has developed rapidly. This forum is of great significance, and we believe that the experience, investment, and potential from the Hong Kong business community will contribute to the economic growth of Uzbekistan.

At the forum, several economic and trade representatives from Uzbekistan introduced the country’s investment environment and opportunities. The Uzbekistan Investment and Green Industry Development Center in Hong Kong was officially unveiled on the 4th.

On the same day, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam met with Khozayev and stated that the economic and trade relations between Hong Kong and Uzbekistan have steadily grown in recent years, and they can jointly explore more cooperation opportunities. He welcomes Uzbekistan enterprises to utilize Hong Kong’s advantages to expand their markets and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
