Maputo, September 23 (Xinhua) — Mozambique’s Minister of Planning and Development, Che Guevara, stated in the capital Maputo on September 23 that Mozambique looks forward to deepening cooperation with China and building an inclusive, sustainable, and dignified future.
Walla attended the reception held by the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique on the same day to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and made the above statement. He believes that China will combine its profound cultural heritage with its relentless pursuit of progress and prosperity, and achieve remarkable development achievements in the rapidly changing global economy by building world-class infrastructure, developing cutting-edge technology, and actively participating in global trade.
Walla said that China is one of Mozambique’s most important economic, trade, and investment partners. Mozambique is firmly committed to deepening cooperation with China under the framework of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese speaking Countries and the “the Belt and Road” initiative, further implementing the “Ten Partnership Actions” proposed by the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, actively expanding trade and investment, promoting local industrialization, and giving full play to digital and regional advantages to develop tourism and build logistics hubs.
He emphasized that China’s global governance initiative conforms to the changes of the times and promotes countries around the world to face the future of humanity with a pragmatic, responsible, and hopeful attitude. Mofang will further maintain close cooperation with China on the global agenda.
Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Zheng Xuan stated that since the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mozambique, pragmatic cooperation in various fields has developed comprehensively, and the achievements have effectively promoted the economic and social development and improvement of people’s livelihoods in Mozambique. China is willing to work together with Mozambique to transform the advantages of China’s large market into new opportunities for common development.
During the reception, a photo exhibition was also held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War.
