China Central and Eastern European Countries High Level Think Tank Seminar held in Zagreb

Zagreb, October 21 (Xinhua) — The 11th China Central and Eastern European Countries High Level Think Tank Seminar was held on October 21 in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

The theme of this seminar is “A World at a Crossroad: Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries”, attracting more than 100 government officials, well-known think tank leaders, experts and scholars, industry representatives, and media reporters from China, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries.

In his speech, former Croatian President Josipovic said that since the launch of the China CEEC cooperation mechanism in 2012, the two sides have carried out a series of connectivity and economic, trade and investment cooperation, which has become a useful complement to the “the Belt and Road” initiative. At the same time, the mutually beneficial cooperation between Croatia and China is increasingly deepening, constantly pushing the cooperation between the two sides to new heights.

Former Romanian President Constantinescu stated that China and Romania have a long history of exchanges and friendly traditions. Both sides should take mutual learning of civilizations as a link and the spirit of the Silk Road as a guide, continuously deepen historical and cultural cooperation, and make people to people exchanges a profound foundation for promoting stable and far-reaching China Romania relations.

Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Qi Qianjin stated in his speech that deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries is not only of great significance for regional prosperity and development, but also injects stability and vitality into China Europe relations and even global development.

This seminar is hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the China Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation Secretariat, organized by the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Embassy in Croatia, and the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, and co organized by the China Central and Eastern European Research Institute and the China Central and Eastern European Countries Think Tank Exchange and Cooperation Network.
