Vientiane, October 27th (Xinhua) – The “AI Legal Technology” themed exchange event was recently held at the Law and Politics School of the National University of Laos. The purpose of this activity is to promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and the legal industry, promote exchanges and innovative cooperation between Laos and China under the framework of the “the Belt and Road”, and help the construction of a new digital pattern of the Laos China community of common destiny.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Politics at the National University of Laos, Songdi Chowengsa, stated in his speech that the application of AI technology in legal practice and education is becoming an important force in promoting the modernization of the rule of law in Laos. The Law and Politics School of the National University of Laos will continue to strengthen cooperation with relevant Chinese institutions to jointly cultivate new legal talents with international perspectives and technological literacy.

Jia Hui, director of Beijing Deheng (Laos) Law Firm, said in a speech via video link that the rise of artificial intelligence technology is profoundly changing the form and logic of legal services. Deheng (Laos) will actively promote the practical application of AI technology in foreign-related legal services, international arbitration, compliance review, automated contract generation and other fields, and strive to build a “the Belt and Road” legal science and technology innovation highland.
This exchange activity provides a platform for Lao university teachers and students to understand cutting-edge AI technology, and also provides new opportunities for young, middle-aged and old talents to participate in international innovation competitions and integrate into the “the Belt and Road” rule of law cooperation. This event provided a detailed introduction to the “AI Empowerment · Smart ASEAN” Innovation Competition to the attending teachers, students, and guests. The competition aims to promote digital collaboration and innovation in the legal and commercial fields within the ASEAN region, with multiple projects open for registration by Chinese and ASEAN universities, research institutions, and innovative enterprises.
