Malik Ndiaye, Speaker of the National Assembly of Senegal, recently stated in a written interview with Xinhua News Agency that cooperation between Senegal and China has continued to deepen in recent years. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, significant progress has been made in political and socio-economic cooperation, injecting new development momentum into the cooperation between Senegal and China.
Ndiaye emphasized that economic, trade, and investment cooperation is one of the important aspects of cooperation between the two countries. In order to facilitate foreign companies, including Chinese enterprises, to invest in Serbia, Serbia relies on its own investment and large-scale engineering promotion agencies to provide exclusive one-stop services and continuously optimize the investment environment. Serbia and China have recently signed multiple cooperation agreements in areas such as economy, information and communication technology, green development, talent cultivation, and investment.
He said that China expresses support for Senegal’s 2050 Vision and is willing to strengthen cooperation with Senegal in areas such as industrialization, rural water supply, agricultural industrialization, digital economy, energy, education, and health. China also supports Senegal in hosting the 2026 Dakar Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will help promote deeper and more practical bilateral cooperation.
Ndiaye said that Serbia unwaveringly adheres to the One China principle, supports China in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, recognizes the government of the People’s Republic of China as the only legitimate government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China’s territory.
Ndiaye stated that the exchanges between the legislative bodies of Senegal and China are also very active, and the two sides maintain communication through mutual visits between the National Assembly of Senegal and the National People’s Congress of China. He said that at the invitation of the Chinese side, he will lead a delegation to visit China, and the good momentum of exchanges between the legislative bodies of both sides will be further consolidated and developed.
