Kuala Lumpur, February 28 (Xinhua) – Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Zhang Qingxin, stated on February 27 that the Malaysian side is optimistic about the prospects of the Chinese market and will continue to optimize the structure of tourism products and route network layout, improve service quality, and further attract more Chinese tourists to visit Malaysia.
Zhang Qingxin stated that the Chinese outbound tourism market is accelerating its transformation, with a significant increase in demand for independent travel, in-depth cultural and tourism experiences, and educational exchange programs. Chinese tourists are becoming increasingly mature, paying more attention to overall quality, safety assurance, payment convenience, cultural content, and service stability. Malaysia needs to simultaneously promote the upgrading of tourism products and the improvement of service standards to adapt to market changes.
He pointed out that during this year’s Spring Festival, several Chinese airlines have added flights between Malaysia and China. Malaysia looks forward to deepening cooperation with more Chinese airlines in the future and striving to open more direct flights to major and second tier cities in China.
According to Chinese statistics, there will be 716 round-trip flights between China and Malaysia per week in 2025, with a total of 4.77 million Chinese tourists visiting Malaysia throughout the year.
