On April 25th, Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, stated on Fox Business Channel that the highest ranking negotiator in Congress will meet with White House officials next week. Hassett stated that Benson and he will present President Trump’s priorities at the meeting. Hassett stated that this meeting will be a gathering of the “Big Six”. The negotiating representatives for the “Big Six” are Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, Hassett, Republican leaders Mike Johnson and John Thune in both houses of Congress, and Chairman of the House and Senate Tax Committees Jason Smith and Mike Crapo.
