The sampling results of the Singapore parliamentary elections have been announced, and the ruling party has won over half of the seats

On May 3rd, according to the latest sampling data from various constituencies released by the Singapore Electoral Board, the ruling People’s Action Party has won 56 seats in this parliamentary election, exceeding half of the total seats. There are 211 candidates competing for 97 parliamentary seats in this election. This election is the first time that Singapore’s current Prime Minister, Wong Shun Choi, has led the ruling People’s Action Party to participate in parliamentary elections since taking office in 2024. The Singapore Parliament adopts a unicameral system, with members elected by voters for a term of 5 years. The political party holding the majority of seats in the Parliament can form a government.
