On May 3rd, Lan Fo’an, Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Finance, recently published an article in Qiushi magazine titled “Scientific Design and Successful Practice of a More Active Fiscal Policy”, in which he proposed that everything should be done in advance, and failure to do so would lead to failure. Currently, the implementation of so-called “equivalent tariffs” by the United States on all trading partners is continuously causing global market turbulence, deepening the adverse effects on China’s economic development, and presenting new situations and challenges to economic operation. It is necessary to implement more proactive fiscal policies to effectively hedge the adverse impact of external risks on China’s economy. The finance department should thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the deployment of this year’s Government Work Report, focus on key areas and weak links for high-quality development, strengthen financial and tax policy support and funding guarantee, implement precise policies, continue to exert efforts, and fully unleash the effectiveness of fiscal policies.
