Sri Lanka will be invited as a special partner for the 22nd East Expo

Nanning, July 23 (Xinhua) — According to the Secretariat of the China ASEAN Expo, the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou recently sent a letter to the Secretariat confirming Sri Lanka’s appointment as a special invited partner for the 22nd China ASEAN Expo.

The 22nd East Expo will be held in Nanning, Guangxi from September 17th to 21st. It is reported that Sri Lanka will send high-level diplomatic officials to lead a government delegation to attend the conference, actively organizing national key enterprises and specific industry enterprises, including several port companies, spice companies and other representative local enterprises to participate in the exhibition, in order to further consolidate and deepen economic and trade cooperation with China and the ASEAN region. During this period, a series of special invited partner events such as Sri Lanka National Image Exhibition, Commodity Exhibition, and National Promotion Conference will be held.

The CAEXPO has set up special partners since the 11th session. According to the application and preparation of relevant countries, the CAEXPO Secretariat, on behalf of the co organizers of the CAEXPO, will invite RCEP member countries other than China and ASEAN and countries jointly building the “the Belt and Road” as special partners. The Expo expanded from serving “10+1” cooperation to serving RCEP cooperation and jointly building the “the Belt and Road”, promoting exchanges between China and ASEAN and countries outside the region, and creating more business opportunities.

Sri Lanka was once invited as a special partner (guest country) for the 13th East Expo, embarking on a new journey of cooperation.

Currently, the cooperation projects between China and Sri Lanka cover multiple fields such as infrastructure, energy, and port development, promoting Sri Lanka’s economic development and regional connectivity, improving the local infrastructure level, and strengthening cooperation and connections in economic, cultural, and other aspects between the two countries.
