Wuhan, August 6th (Xinhua) – At around 10 am on the 6th, the 75192 freight train loaded with scattered cars slowly departed from Xianglushan Station, which was officially put into operation as the starting station for the second China Europe (Central Asia) train in Hubei.
Xianglushan Station is an important freight station on the Wuhan Huangshan Railway, and is connected to the Wuhan Yangluo International Port Iron and Steel Intermodal Railway Phase I and Phase II dedicated railways here. Zhang Peng, Deputy General Manager of Hubei Railway Group International Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd., introduced that in the past, goods exported from Wuhan to Central Asia and Europe through the Yangtze River waterway could only be transferred to Wujiashan Station, the only origin station of China Europe (Central Asia) trains in Hubei, for shipment, which not only took several days but also increased logistics costs.
After Xianglushan Station became the second starting station for China Europe (Central Asia) trains in Hubei Province, relevant trains can achieve “direct customs declaration, no need for transfer, and one ticket to go abroad” here. The transportation time is shortened by about 2 days compared to previous transfer transportation, and the comprehensive cost is reduced by about 15%.
In recent years, Hubei has actively coordinated and integrated five types of transportation networks, including water, rail, public and air networks, focusing on building a modern logistics system with low cost, high efficiency and wide radiation, and accelerating the construction of a “Nine Provinces Gateway” in the new era.
