Minsk, August 20th (Xinhua) – The “Chinese White Dehua Porcelain” themed exhibition opened on the 20th at the Chinese Cultural Center in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

This exhibition showcases a total of 18 Dehua white porcelain works and 87 cultural and creative products, covering themes such as character images, animal and plant shapes, etc. At the event, Chinese ceramic artists showcased and interacted with intangible cultural heritage techniques such as sculpture, flower carving, and painting for Belarusian audiences, allowing local people to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Dehua white porcelain.

Xia Guangyuan, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus and Director of the Minsk Chinese Cultural Center, stated at the opening ceremony that this exhibition promotes exchanges between Chinese Dehua and Belarusian ceramic artists and enthusiasts. I hope both sides can inspire each other, explore more possibilities of ceramic art together, deepen cultural dialogue, and work together to promote cultural exchanges and friendship between China and Belarus.

Chen Weiqi, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Dehua County People’s Congress in Fujian Province, said that he hopes to use porcelain as a bridge to enhance cultural exchanges and allow Belarusian friends to experience the charm of Chinese culture; I hope to use porcelain to promote industrial development, connect people’s hearts with porcelain, and bring Dehua porcelain into more Belarusian families.

Kuzmina, the first deputy director of the National Gallery of Belarus, stated that in recent years, Belarus and China have jointly implemented multiple cultural cooperation projects, which have brilliantly presented the essence of Chinese traditional culture and the cultural spirit of Belarus. I believe this exhibition can also become an important symbol of dialogue and exchange between the civilizations of the two countries, and a vivid witness to the profound friendship.
This exhibition is hosted by the China Foreign Cultural and Tourism Exchange Center, Minsk Chinese Cultural Center, Dehua County People’s Government, and co organized by Dehua County Ceramic Development Center. The exhibition will continue until September 7th.
