Sydney, December 24th (Xinhua) — Port Moresby reported that the Papua New Guinea seaside apartment project, constructed by China Construction Engineering Group Corporation, has recently obtained an occupancy permit. This marks the successful delivery of the new landmark project in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea.
The reporter learned from the relevant person in charge of China Construction Science and Technology Corporation that the Papua New Guinea seaside apartment project is located in the reclaimed area of Ella Beach in Port Moresby and is a high-end commercial apartment building. This is the third high-end commercial apartment project delivered by China Construction Technology Group in Papua New Guinea, following the Hilton apartments at Xingshan Plaza Phase II and the Marriott apartments at Taikoo South Bank.
Project manager Li Sen stated that the construction environment in Papua New Guinea is more complex than expected, with soft and uneven geological conditions in the coastal backfill area, coupled with the local windy climate, posing great challenges to foundation construction. To address the challenge, the project team introduced the all steel casing construction technology. At the same time, the project team conducted force calculation analysis and combined it with similar environmental construction practice cases in China, making it the first project in Port Moresby to use steel sleeve connection technology instead of traditional steel bar overlap. This technology application significantly reduces the difficulty of complex node reinforcement construction, improves construction efficiency, and provides practical experience for similar projects in the local area.
According to the data, since 2017, China Construction Technology Group has successively built a series of livelihood projects in Papua New Guinea, covering schools, roads, high-end commercial apartments and other formats, effectively improving the local infrastructure level.
