Cairo, January 9 (Xinhua) — The Chinese Embassy in Egypt held a themed sharing session on the evening of the 8th, entitled “Writing a Beautiful Chapter of China Africa Friendship with Youth – Celebrating the Year of Cultural Exchange between China and Africa”. About 100 people, including Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, Dean of the Egyptian Diplomatic Academy Alavi, Chairman of the Egyptian Alumni Association in China Nasser, as well as young Egyptian diplomats, alumni studying in China, and youth representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, attended the event.
Liao Liqiang stated that 2026 is the “China Africa Cultural Exchange Year”. The current China Egypt relationship is at its best in history, and the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries cannot be achieved without the active participation of young people. The construction of a China Africa community with a shared future requires the unremitting efforts of young people. The encounter and acquaintance between Chinese and Egyptian youth across mountains and seas deepened the understanding and cognition of both peoples, providing the most vivid interpretation of cultural exchange.
Alavi said that Egypt attaches great importance to youth exchanges, and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has included Chinese as an elective subject in the diplomatic recruitment examination. The Egyptian Diplomatic Academy has also included studying in China in its training system, laying a solid foundation for the long-term development of Egypt China relations.
Nasser stated that Egypt was the earliest Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. The Egypt China relationship has withstood the test of time and the cooperation has yielded fruitful results. The youth of Egypt and China are not only witnesses of the friendship between Africa and China, but also an important bridge to promote cultural exchanges and common development. The youth of both countries will make new contributions to promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind through practical actions.
At the sharing session, youth representatives from China and Egypt engaged in dialogue around the theme of “using youth to write a beautiful chapter of China Africa friendship”, exchanging cooperation achievements between the two countries in the fields of youth diplomat training, language teaching, academic visits, etc., and providing suggestions and recommendations for further deepening the China Egypt and China Africa youth partnership.
