Ljubljana, January 14 (Xinhua) – Slovenian President Jose Mourinho stated in the capital Ljubljana on the 14th that China is a trustworthy partner and looks forward to strengthening high-level exchanges with China, further deepening practical cooperation, promoting bilateral relations to a new level, jointly safeguarding the authority of the United Nations, defending international law, and promoting international fairness and justice.
Musar made the above statement on the same day when accepting the letter of credence presented by the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia, Kang Yan. Musar welcomes Kang Yan’s appointment and reiterates Sri Lanka’s adherence to the One China policy.
Kang Yan stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously strengthened, and practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results. This year marks the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan, and China’s high-quality development and high-level opening-up will create more opportunities for win-win cooperation between China and Sri Lanka. China is willing to work together with Sri Lanka to actively promote the implementation of important consensus reached by the leaders of both sides and continuously deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various fields.
Kang Yan will take office in Sri Lanka on December 30, 2025.
