Recently, the hybrid rice demonstration area on hilly slopes in Mpanda County has experienced a bumper harvest, with a yield of 746 kilograms per mu. The China aided agricultural expert group in Burundi has conducted experimental research on hybrid rice since 2015. After ten years of development, the current single season area of hybrid rice in China is about 75000 acres, with an average yield of 600 kilograms per acre.
