On the early morning of the 20th local time, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the accident of President Lech’s helicopter. The statement stated that on the afternoon of the 19th local time, a helicopter carrying the Iranian President, Foreign Minister, and other accompanying personnel had an accident in the Walzagan area of East Azerbaijan Province. Iran is grateful for the humanitarian sentiments and solidarity expressed by multiple governments and international organizations to the Iranian government and people, and thanks them for their help and assistance in search and rescue operations.
