According to Russian media reports on May 20th, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Pierre Hussein Koliwande, stated that the personnel on the crashed helicopter “died within a few minutes of the crash.”. He said that rescue workers from the Red Crescent Society discovered helicopter wreckage at an altitude of 2500 meters, and more than 2000 people participated in the search and rescue operation. The helicopter was completely destroyed. The report also stated, “It took over 40 minutes from the discovery of signals from helicopter wreckage to the arrival of rescue personnel at the crash site.” (Reference)
