The 5th China Mongolia Expo will be held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia from August 25th to 29th. “The China Mongolia Expo has gone through ten years, not only based on China Mongolia cooperation, but also radiating to Northeast Asia and countries along the the Belt and Road, which has played an important role in promoting regional economic and trade cooperation,” said Yan Dong, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce.
Yang Jin, Vice Chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, introduced that this year’s China Mongolia Expo will fully showcase the achievements of the 10th anniversary of the Expo and comprehensively deepen the high-quality and practical cooperation between the two sides in multiple fields. At the same time, through a series of activities such as the “2025 National Open North Important Bridgehead Think Tank Forum”, we will comprehensively introduce the positive achievements of Inner Mongolia in strengthening regional cooperation and exchanges.
During the previous expo, more than 500 enterprises and 860 manufacturers from Mongolia participated in the exhibition, showcasing 113 types of products with a total sales revenue of 6 million yuan (approximately 2.9 billion Mongolian tons). This data fully demonstrates the actual achievements of cooperation between the two sides. Yang Jin introduced that this expo invited nearly 6000 domestic and foreign guests and exhibitors, bringing together more than 1500 domestic and foreign enterprises. At the same time, multiple industry specialized pavilions will be set up to focus on cross-border power transmission and related technologies between China and Mongolia in the fields of new energy and modern coal chemical industry, showcasing more than 30 industry-leading achievements. Yang Jin said that this year’s expo has set up a green computing power and artificial intelligence exhibition area, attracting more than 100 large professional buyers from home and abroad to negotiate and connect. At the same time, VR technology will be used to create immersive scenes, allowing viewers to experience the “digital future” firsthand. According to Chinese statistics, the trade volume between China and Mongolia reached 18.62 billion US dollars in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%, reaching a historic high. China has long maintained its position as Mongolia’s largest trading partner, largest import source country, and export target country, “Yan Dong said.
Yan Dong stated that this year’s China Mongolia Expo will focus on creating a new platform for the country to open up to the north, a new link for regional industrial and supply chain cooperation, and a new pivot for Northeast Asia regional cooperation.
