Phnom Penh, April 30 (Xinhua) — The upgrading and renovation project of Cambodia’s Highway 31, 33, and 41, undertaken by China Road and Bridge Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “China Road and Bridge”), was completed and opened to traffic on the 29th in Chajiao Province. In his speech, Wang Wenbin stated that the path of Chinese enterprises building in Cambodia continues to extend, symbolizing the continuous development of China Cambodia friendship and becoming a vivid portrayal of the strong friendship between the two countries. We will work together with Cambodia to pave more paths of friendship between China and Cambodia, build more bridges of cooperation between China and Cambodia, and promote the formation of a more fruitful China Cambodia community of shared future in the new era.

This series of projects is supported by China’s preferential export buyer’s credit, with Highway 31 connecting Cambodia’s Highway 3 and Highway 33, with a total length of approximately 54 kilometers. The endpoint of Highway 33 is located on the border between Cambodia and Vietnam, with a total length of approximately 53 kilometers. Route 41 connects cities such as Phnom Penh with the southern coast and ports, with a total length of approximately 95 kilometers.

The successful completion and opening of three highways not only significantly improves the level and service capacity of highways in the coastal provinces of Cambodia, but also plays an important role in promoting tourism and economic development in the southwestern coastal areas. It will accelerate the improvement of Cambodia’s highway network system and enhance regional connectivity.
