Wu Qiqi: Serbian General will continue to work hand in hand to promote peace and development

Belgrade, September 30 (Xinhua) – Serbian President Vu č i ć stated on September 29 at a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Serbia to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the friendship between the Chinese and Serbian peoples that Serbia and China will continue to work together, committed to peace and development, and create a better future for the two peoples.

On that day, Vu č i ć, Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Burnabi ć, Prime Minister Machut, Deputy Speaker Ragush, Deputy Speaker Jerlek, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mali, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Da č i ć, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Mesarovi ć, and more than ten cabinet ministers attended the reception together. Wu Qiqi warmly congratulates the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and expresses his joint celebration of the 70th anniversary of the friendship between the Chinese and Serbian peoples.

Li Ming, the Chinese ambassador to Serbia, said at the reception that since the beginning of the new era, under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China Serbia relations have maintained a high level of development, the “iron friendship” has been inherited and carried forward, and has become stronger over time, and the “the Belt and Road” has achieved fruitful results. The current China Serbia relationship is standing at a new starting point, brimming with vitality and vigor. The people of the two countries will continue to work hand in hand to jointly draw a beautiful blueprint for a community of shared future between China and Serbia in the new era.

More than 800 people from various sectors, including the Serbian government, parliament, political parties, military, business, education, and culture, as well as foreign ambassadors, overseas Chinese, Chinese institutions, and representatives of international students, attended the reception. The Serbian Philharmonic Orchestra and young people from China and Serbia jointly performed wonderful programs such as “Me and My Motherland” and Serbian folk song “That Distant Place”. At the reception, the video clip “Let the Light of Iron Friendship Illuminate the Road of China Serbia Cooperation” with the theme of China Serbia cooperation, and the promotional film of the achievements of the “the Belt and Road” cooperation “Fate and Common” were also broadcast.
