Chinese Navy’s “Silk Road Ark” Hospital Ship Ends Visit to Barbados and Goes to South America

Bridgetown, December 28 (Xinhua) — The Chinese Navy’s “Silk Road Ark” hospital ship successfully concluded its 7-day friendly visit and medical services to Barbados on the 27th, and set sail for South America to continue its “Harmony Mission-2025” mission.

At 10:00 local time on the 27th, officials from the Barbados government, representatives of the people, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Barbados, as well as representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese funded institutions, came to the dock to bid farewell to the hospital ship “Silk Road Ark”. The atmosphere at the scene was sincere and warm.

During its 7-day visit, the “Silk Road Ark” hospital ship mainly relied on the ship’s main platform to provide efficient medical services. It completed a total of 2455 diagnosis and treatment services, 2127 CT, DR, ultrasound and other examinations, performed 202 surgeries and operations, and admitted 26 hospitalized patients.

Chinese naval medical staff also went to local hospitals for medical exchanges, and conducted visits, exchanges, and sports activities with the Barbados Defense Force. Barbados President Bostic boarded the ship to visit and inspect medical services, visited patients, and highly praised the professional and efficient medical services provided by the “Silk Road Ark” hospital ship.

Barbados is the final stop of the “Harmony Mission-2025” mission in the Caribbean region.
