According to CCTV News, on April 28th, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Rao Quan met with the visiting delegation of Kuomintang representatives, Fu Kunchi, in Beijing. Both sides have conducted in-depth exchanges on strengthening cultural and tourism cooperation between the mainland and Taiwan. Rao Quan stated that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has always supported exchanges and cooperation in various fields across the Taiwan Strait, including tourism. Fujian residents will be the first to resume tourism to Mazu, and after the resumption of sea passenger direct flights from Pingtan to Taiwan, Fujian residents will resume team tourism to Taiwan.

According to the same journey travel data, as of 2:00 p.m. on April 28, 2024, Mazu’s travel search popularity has increased by more than seven times over the same period the day before yesterday, and Taiwan, China’s travel search popularity has increased by 47% over the day before yesterday. Guangdong residents are most concerned about information related to traveling to Taiwan, and residents in southeastern coastal provinces and cities such as Fujian, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai also search for relevant information more frequently.
