The Israeli Defense Minister threatens to launch ground operations against Rafah

Israeli Defense Minister Galant stated that Israel believes there are signs that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) actually does not intend to reach any ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Regarding the Gaza Strip ceasefire negotiations held in Cairo, Egypt, on the 5th local time, Israeli Defense Minister Galant stated that Israel believes there are signs that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) actually does not intend to reach any ceasefire agreement with Israel, which means that in the very near future, the Israeli military will launch ground military operations against Rafah.

Rafah is located in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip. Since the outbreak of the new round of Palestinian Israeli conflict in October last year, millions of Palestinians who have fled from the northern and central parts of the Gaza Strip have gathered in Rafah. Recently, Israel has repeatedly stated that the Israeli military plans to carry out ground military operations against Rafah, but the international community generally opposes Israel’s attack on Rafah, fearing that the Israeli military actions will lead to a more serious humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
