Baku, June 9th (Xinhua) — Tbilisi News: The Georgia Poti Port multimodal transport container yard constructed by China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Co., Ltd. was officially put into operation on the 9th. It is expected that this project will create more than 300 new job opportunities in the local area and promote the development of logistics, trade, and other industries.

It is understood that the project is located in the core area of Boji Port, covering an area of 7.8 hectares. The construction includes container storage areas, dedicated refrigerated container areas, railway lines, customs inspection stations, and supporting fire-fighting facilities. The annual designed processing capacity reaches 80000 standard containers, which can meet the growing freight demand of the trans Caspian international transportation corridor.
The project is jointly participated by enterprises from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and China, with the Chinese team responsible for construction.
Yula Dafrishev, General Manager of the owner unit of the multimodal transport container yard in Port Boji, said that the professional ability and efficient execution demonstrated by Chinese enterprises are admirable, and this project is a vivid portrayal of mutual trust and cooperation between China and Georgia.
