Rwanda’s New Airport Road Improves People’s Lives

On April 9th, in Kigali, Rwanda, two boys played football next to the upgraded section of Bugaisela International Airport Road.

The Bugaisela International Airport Road Upgrade and Renovation Project in Rwanda was launched in March 2019, constructed by China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., with a total length of 13.8 kilometers. It was completed and accepted in October 2022. After the completion of the project, the International Airport Road was upgraded from a two-way two lane urban road to a two-way four lane road, and some sections reached a two-way six lane road, effectively relieving local traffic pressure. The construction of shops, residential buildings, and office buildings along the route has played a certain role in promoting local economic development.
