The US allows settlements related to energy sector transactions with some Russian banks

The Russian banks allowed for transaction settlement include large banks such as the Russian Foreign Trade Bank, the Russian Savings Bank, Alpha Bank, and the St. Petersburg Bank.

On April 29th local time, according to a report by Russian news agency, citing the US Treasury Department, the US government allows settlements related to energy sector transactions with some Russian banks before November 1, 2024.

The Russian banks allowed for transaction settlement include large banks such as the Russian Foreign Trade Bank, the Russian Savings Bank, Alpha Bank, and the St. Petersburg Bank. In addition, according to regulations, relevant settlements can also be made with the Russian central bank. Previously, according to an executive order issued by the US government, the above operations were prohibited as they fall within the scope of sanctions.
